Naomi and Tom's Wedding, The Pier House, Westward Ho!

There is certainly something very special about a wedding by the sea. Couples who want this type of wedding in North Devon are quite spoilt for choice. There's Tunnels Beaches, Sandy Cove, Woolacome Bay Hotel, Ocean Kave and The Pier House in Westward Ho!. Naomi and Tom chose The Pier House, which can now host ceremonies at the venue. I've done weddings at the Pier House before, but only as a reception venue, so it was nice to shoot a ceremony there for the first time.

The morning kicked off with Naomi's bridal prep at her parent's house in Fremington. When I arrived Naomi was there with her bridesmaids, Becca, Natalie (her sisters), Ali, Ashley, Claire and Kate all busy getting ready.

Soon it was time for the short drive to Westward Ho! for the ceremony. Tom was there when I arrived along with his best man, another Tom and groomsmen, Dave, Mark and Dan. Fortunately, we were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day and The Pier House looked exceptionally dressed for a ceremony. The guests started to arrive and the room filled up quickly as we all waited for Naomi to arrive.

And what a way to arrive. A classic vintage bus carrying all her bridal party! Naomi looked a little nervous as the bus pulled up and quickly made her way into the ceremony, where Tom was waiting...

After a beautiful ceremony, everyone went outside onto the decking to toast the newlyweds and bask in the sunshine. Naomi and Tom hired a magician who did some amazing card tricks for the guests and drew quite a crowd. Then it was time for some family and friend formal photos overlooking the ocean. I can't remember who suggested it (it may have been me!) but Tom's friends lifted him up and bounced him around for a few photos. Tom didn't seem to mind too much!

Then it was time to head back inside, where the Pier House staff had cleared away the ceremony furniture and brilliantly transformed the room for the wedding breakfast. Once the guests had eaten their tasty food, the speeches began. Tom was getting quite a bit of stick during the very funny speeches, much to everyone's amusement.

After the cake cutting Naomi and Tom had their first dance. All their friends gathered around them and soon joined in on the dance floor. As there was a nice sunset looming, we ventured outside to the beach to get some shots only for the tide to be fully in, oh well! I decided to get some beautiful shots on the slipway instead (and a few less serious ones!).
