You'll have to forgive me. There are quite a lot of photos in this blog post, more than usual, but there were so many great moments captured at Richard and Liz's wedding, I struggled to keep them out!

When I met with Liz and Richard earlier this year to discuss their wedding day, I just knew their wedding was going to be one of the highlights on my list of weddings to shoot this year and I wasn't wrong.

When I arrived at Liz's bridal preparations in Marwood, the girls were in full getting ready mode and I was pleased to find Julie, who I'd previously met, doing a fine job on their make up. 

Meanwhile, Richard was getting ready at his father's house in Croyde with his mates. Then it was time for Richard to have a swift pint or two at the Kings Arms in Georgeham, next door to St Georges Church. His last as a single man!

The service had quite a unique and personal touch. Liz's Father is a vicar and performed part of the service along with the local vicar, which must have been a special moment for their family I'm sure.

After the service we all made our way along the narrow roads in a huge convoy of cars to Croyde and Lime Kiln Field, where World Inspired Tents set up one of their fine tipis. I have done a few wedding receptions in these tipis and I liken them to Dr Who's Tardis, small from the outside, yet massive inside.

The food and speeches followed and after a particularly funny speech by best man Aiden that had everyone in stitches, the newly weds got on the dance floor to have their first dance. Now most first dances I have captured have been to quite slow songs, but Richard and Liz had secretly practiced a dance routine which they performed to Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love, swiftly followed by Shaggy's Mr Bombastic! Brilliant.

I really enjoyed shooting Richard and Liz's wedding day. I had such a good time and felt I was treated like one of their guests, not the photographer! They are such a laid back, fun couple and their friends and family were all the same and this made for a fun filled day with lots of laughter and happy times. They should bottle up this day and use it as a template for all future weddings!
