When I met Susan and Stewart a few months back to discuss their wedding, Susan informed me to my horror that she was a wedding photographer along with her friend James who was Stewart's Best Man! No pressure on the day then......

The day started with Susan's bridal prep at The Elmfield in Ilfracombe, a nice little boutique style hotel just up the road from Tunnels Beaches. Susan's mum Chris, sister Carol and friend Michelle were there in the room when I arrived and the mood was nice and laid back. Whilst the girls were getting hair and make up done, Susan had MTV's top 50 movie songs countdown playing on the tv which made for a lot of reminiscing and laughs (Will Smith - Wild Wild West anyone?!). 

As time drew on and the MTV countdown got into the top 10, Susan got into her stunning wedding dress and slowly her nerves started to kick in!

Soon after it was time for me to leave for Tunnels Beaches and the Ceremony. I never did find out what the top 5 movie songs were, oh well.

When I arrived at Tunnels Beaches, Stewart was there with his Best Men, Brother Adam and friend James. The guests were arriving and in no time Susan arrived looking stunning with her bridal party in tow. Tunnels Beaches is such a unique setting for a wedding and Susan and Stewart were fortunate that it could all take place outdoors including the meal, speeches and first dance.

After the ceremony we ventured down onto one of Tunnels private beaches for some amazing bride and groom portraits. Susan got out of her wedding shoes and put on a pair of comfy flip flops provided for the shoot. 

Following the rather tasty meal, it was time for the speeches. Susan got things started with a few words, which was nice, swiftly followed by a few words from her Dad Ian and Stewart. Adam and James shared the Best Man speech duties with some hilarious stories about Stewart which made him cringe (see pics below for evidence!)

I needn't have worried about the extra pressure of photographing a wedding photographer's wedding! Susan and Stewart were so gracious on the day as were their family and friends. It was a real honour to be a small part of their day, 

I wish Susan and Stewart all the best in their newly married life.
