Sarah & David Wedding, Fox and Hounds

This was my first wedding at the Fox and Hounds Country Hotel and it certainly didn't disappoint. I arrived around 9.30 to catch bride to be Sarah in the London Salon getting her hair done. She was in good spirits and looking forward to her big day. Then it was back to Sarah's room, where along with her bridesmaids Michaela, Angela and Louise, they all got ready and had their make up done.

I even had time to put my head around the door of Groom, Dave and his ushers, Shane, Aaron, Ashley and Simon. They had already cracked open a few beers and were in a jovial mood. Cheers!

Groom before wedding I do wedding shoes Soon it was time for Sarah to finalise preparations and get into her dress, and she certainly looked stunning! I could see the nerves had started to kick in for Sarah as well as pure excitement! Unfortunately the planned outdoor ceremony had to be relocated, due to very strong winds and heavy rain, to the hotel's indoor chapel. All the guests gathered with Dave and we waited for Sarah's grand entrance, which was greeted to music played by the wonderful string quartet '4tissimo'.

After a beautiful ceremony, the guests congratulated the newlyweds and Sarah face was understandably beaming! Meanwhile, the weather had cleared enough to go outside and have the confetti throwing. Then it was time for the formal photos which we started to do outside, only for the rain to come back with a vengeance and chase us all back inside again!

The string quartet carried on playing inside the hotel and some of the guests started singing along at the top of their voices to their brilliant cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, which was quite a sight. I couldn't help myself, so I joined in and sang a few Mamma Mia's and 'Fandangos' too!

Then it was time for speeches, where Sarah's Dad presented Dave with an England rugby shirt. Seeing as Dave is a welshman he took it quite well, though I love the look of horror on his face (below).

Grooms speech Groom and his groomsmen By the time the speeches had finished and everyone had eaten their wedding breakfast, I suggested to Sarah and Dave it might be a good time to go outside while the weather was good to capture some bride and groom photos. Although the ground was a bit wet, Sarah soldiered out anyway onto the little jetty where we took some lovely photos. Even the sun made a welcome brief appearance, at last! I was so pleased for Sarah and Dave that we could get outside and get these shots, as the weather was so awful throughout the day.

Bride and Groom portraiture Bride and groom sunny Bride and groom happy Wedding Cake Things got even busier when more guests arrived for the evening celebrations. Sarah and Dave hired the brilliant wedding band, Sonic Fusion and they played Songbird as Sarah and Dave's first dance.

The dance floor was quite small and the number of guests dancing was so many, I had to practically stand with the band to get some shots! I really enjoy this part of the day, all the formalities are done and everyone can let their hair down and party away.

What a great day to be a part of. Lovely couple, friendly guests and a brilliant venue, the perfect recipe for a fun day! Sarah and Dave put a lot of effort into the day and it showed. Lots of lovely touches and moments throughout, which I hope the photos in this blog have captured. I wish them all the best in their newly married life together.
