Following on from last weeks preview, this is the complete story of Deniece (spelt correctly this time!) and James' wedding at the South Devon resort of Kingswear and Dartmouth. A stunning location for a wedding and made all the better for the glorious weather that greeted us on our arrival.

When Deniece contacted me last year about being her wedding photographer, I knew this would be, for me, a unique wedding to capture.

Often, when I am booked to photograph a wedding, I ask the couple, for logistical reasons about the different locations involved for the coverage, such as the location of the bridal prep, the ceremony and reception. This wedding involved, a hotel, a nearby park, a passenger ferry, a train station and steam train journey and finally a boat cruise up and down the River Dart! Definitely a first for me...

The day started with Deniece's bridal preparations along with her sisters Bernice and Rachel and mum Karen, at the splendid setting of the Royal Castle Hotel in Dartmouth. We then ventured out into the adjacent park area for a few portraits and the girls drew plenty of attention from the locals and tourists walking around in their wedding outfits. Now might be a good time to mention Deniece's dress. In a word (or two) stunning and classic! One of the finest dresses I have seen on a bride.

From there, we had a half hour to kill before we boarded the passenger ferry to Kingswear, so decided to head back to the hotel bar for a quick drink! Then it was time to board the ferry full of passengers to head over to Kingswear, a 5 minute hop across the River Dart, where we met up with James her fiancé and the rest of their guests at Kingswear Train Station. There, we boarded the old steam train for a 20 minute scenic train journey to Churston where we got off and headed to the Old Booking Hall for the ceremony.

I took the newlyweds over the platform for a quick photo session and back over again to board the train back to Kingswear, to catch the River Cruise for the final part of the day. A 4 hour cruise up and down the River Dart. We even got lucky and saw a dolphin in the river although I was too busy (slow!) to capture it. I think Deniece's mum Karen did though.

We finally arrived back in port to Dartmouth at sunset. A perfect way to end a perfect day!
