Rebecca & Andy Wedding at Woolacombe Bay Hotel
This was without doubt one of the most enjoyable weddings I have shot this year. Why, (I hear no-one ask!)? There are many reasons. Rebecca and Andy were incredibly down to earth and a pleasure to work with on the day and their wedding day excitement was very endearing. The weather was great all day. This was also the first time I have worked at Woolacombe Bay Hotel which I found to be a brilliant wedding venue. The attention to detail was second to none. The singing waiters, but more on that later!
The excitement I mentioned above was very apparent when I arrived to capture Rebecca's bridal prep at the hotel. After an hour or so we all headed off to Morthoe Church up the road in a cool vintage school bus. After the church ceremony we all made our way back to the hotel via the winding steep narrow roads of Morthoe in the old bus.
Rebecca and Andy had a surprise for their guests after the meal in the shape of Zac and his singing waiters. Singing waiters are a great idea for weddings and I wish more couples booked them. I've actually worked with Zac and his team of waiters before and they never fail to raise the roof. All the guests were singing, dancing and standing on their chairs singing along to Livin on a Prayer and other sign-a-long tunes, which meant I was like a kid in a sweetshop taking photos of it all. There was even a conga dance which went outside and back in again, priceless!
After the fun and excitement of the singing waiters the newlyweds and I headed down to nearby beach for a few bride and groom photos in the most amazing late evening light before we had to get back to the hotel for the first dance.
I think the photos tell the story in a better way than my words ever could!
