Charlotte & Nick Wedding at The Pier House, Westward Ho!
I think its safe to say we have been quite spoilt by the weather this April. I've never known an April like it for sunny dry weather and luckily for Charlotte and Nick, their wedding day at The Pier House in Westward Ho! was a fine one.
Since last year, The Pier House have gained a license for wedding ceremonies in their ballroom, which is such a lovely backdrop for a wedding, with lovely views overlooking the ocean. When I arrived, I met with up groom Nick who was quite nervous, understandably. I also kept a watchful eye outside for Charlotte's arrival as I was informed she would be arriving in a VW camper van. In fact, she arrived 15 minutes early, which is quite unusual for a wedding!
After a lovely ceremony, Charlotte and Nick were congratulated by all their guests and shared a drink and a laugh with everyone, before heading outside into the sun so the room could be transformed into a dining room. I took this opportunity to take a few shots of the newlyweds by the VW camper as well as some family group photos.
Once the Pier House staff had beautifully re-decorated the dining room the guests filed back in for the wedding breakfast and speeches. As the evening drew on I noticed there was a fine sunset looming, so I suggested we go outside for a few more shots, but by this time it was really chilly. However, Charlotte and Nick were real troopers and stood outside in the cold for some beautiful sunset shots that were definitely worth putting up with the chill.
When I first met Charlotte and Nick last year to discuss their wedding, I found them to be a delightful couple and I was really looking forward to capturing their wedding and it certainly didn't disappoint. Gorgeous weather, a beautiful setting and a charming couple, a perfect recipe for a successful wedding day!
