Clare & Pete Wedding, Country Ways, Umberleigh
I first heard from Clare and Pete via Clare's father who was searching for a North Devon wedding photographer whilst making arrangements for his daughter's wedding on her behalf, seeing as Clare and Pete currently live in Luxembourg. I eventually met up with Clare and Pete a week before the wedding and just knew after meeting them this wedding would be a blast to capture and I wasn't wrong.
I've shot a wedding at Country Ways before, so knew what to expect of this brilliant venue and again it didn't disappoint. The remote setting and stunning views of the countryside are just two of the reasons this venue works so well.
When I arrived, Pete was already there and in very good spirits, though by the time Clare arrived, the nerves started to kick in a bit! Clare looked amazing in her gorgeous dress when she arrived in the ceremony room, laughing and giggling away, which made everybody laugh and really broke the ice for all their family and friends in attendance.
Clare and Pete were certainly blessed with a gorgeous sunny and fairly warm wedding day, especially for early April! After the ceremony, I took the newlyweds outside for a few photos with the beautiful countryside scenery as a backdrop. Soon followed by a confetti line leading into the marquee for their wedding breakfast and speeches. During the speeches, I noticed the sun was setting outside which bathed the marquee in the most amazing light. As soon as Clare and Pete had cut their cake I quickly whisked them outside for a photo to try and catch the last remains of the sun setting behind the hills.
Halfway through their first dance, a carefully chosen group of guests joined Clare and Pete for a flash mob style dance, changing the song to Night Fever by the Bee Gees. What a great moment and great way to end my coverage of a fantastic day. I wish Clare and Pete all the best and thank them for letting me be a part of their special day.
