Angela & Paul, Wedding at Ocean Kave
It was a real pleasure to be back at Ocean Kave for Angela and Paul's wedding. For Angela, it was something of a homecoming. Although the couple now live in Yorkshire, Angela was born and raised in nearby Appledore and is one of seven brothers and sisters who are part of the Hockings Ice Cream family. Anyone who remotely likes ice cream in North Devon (guilty....!) has had one of their delicious ice creams (guilty again...!).
When I arrived at the Kave, I noticed the weather was very sunny, but also a bit hazy and the mist was gently rolling in from the sea. Angela arrived soon after with her bridesmaids and her Son who was giving her away. When the beautiful ceremony ended everyone ventured outside to congratulate the newlyweds and have drinks and canapés. After some mingling around and a few group photos it was time to head inside the Sunset Rooms for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
As a surprise to Angela during Paul's speech, she was presented with a colourful painting of Appledore by a local artist, depicting all the landmarks of her hometown village, so well known to her growing up there, a lovely touch by Paul. One of Angela's brothers also sang a few folk tunes alongside his daughter.
Soon it was time to take a few bride and groom photos outside. Unfortunately the fog hadn't lifted, but we were left with a unique misty dreamlike backdrop for the photos, lovely. You always get something different at every Ocean Kave wedding and today was no exception.
I had a lovely time shooting Angela and Paul's wedding, they are such a lovely down to earth couple and I wish them all the best in the married life together.
