Catherine & James wedding at Sandy Cove
When couples get married, one of things they wish for the most of all is good weather on the day. This is especially important when you have chosen to have your ceremony outdoors! Catherine and James needn't have worried. In fact this was possibly the hottest day of the year, or at least it felt like it!
Catherine and James chose the wonderful surroundings of Sandy Cove for their wedding and the first photo from this blog is the view from Catherines' bridal suite where she was getting ready along with her bridesmaids. Not bad eh?
Catherine asked if I would do her a favour and drop off an envelope to her groom-to-be James in one of the rooms below and asked if I could capture the moment he opened the card inside. Turns out the card was informing James where they were going on honeymoon which was a nice surprise for him. New York and Vegas, lucky boy! James then asked his best man to accompany me back to Catherine where he was to hand her another surprise present, a Gucci handbag, perfect for walking down 5th Ave in New York!
Soon it was time for Catherine to make her big entrance where the awaiting James and guests (and me) were all literally sweltering in the sun. What a gorgeous setting for a wedding by the sea. Then everyone headed inside and into the relative cool of the restaurant for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The speeches were both funny and moving and there were a few guests with tears in their eyes. Then Catherine and James headed to nearby Combe Martin beach for their photos along with one of the large balloons Catherine had chosen for decoration, she even agreed to let it go up up and away for one of the photos. When we got back to Sandy Cove there was a nice surprise in the shape of a Hockings ice cream van, a welcome sight on such a sweltering day!
Catherine also threw her bouquet which was skilfully caught by one of her bridesmaids, great leap Sarah! Then it was time for the evening festivities in the marquee. There was lots of dancing and messing around for me to capture which pretty much rounded off a brilliant day. I think the photos show what a fun day this was and I wish Catherine and James all the very best in their married life together and thanks for letting me be a part of your fab day.
